Would it really have made a difference?
Doubt he could get into Q3 today and he would be stuck with that hopeless setup for the race

At the very least try another set up. The last thing Red Bull want to do it turn up to the last 3 races after this one and struggle to get Max into Q3 again
Just a fan's point of view

Putting a new engine and maybe play with the setup is no brainer for me now.

At least try to maximize the chance of winning if car gets in the sweet spot in one (or some?) of the remaining races.

It'd be interesting to see MV swap a FP1 session with one of the Racing Bull drivers as comparison :D

This is the first weekend where RBs genuinely seem like the faster car. They have had troubles in quali before, but not like this. The car is all over the place.

I'm being a little facetious, but would love to know were that chassis could end up if driven by MV.

Hadjar is generally doing the most balanced job with it though anyway.

Max and yuki will start from the pitlane with a setup change and fresh engines if it stays dry

Honestly, its just smart in general to avoid any potential chaos too.

Any takers for an epic max drive and at the very least a podium?

Hard doubt. Will just see what max can cook and hope he doesn't lose his cool on something random.

No way. Once they reach the first half decent car, the overtaking is too difficult here. Was the same last year with Lec, this year it may end at Hams tail.

It really comes down to whether the car gets into the window or not.
So far this weekend it did not give any sign about being in the zone, so seems unlikely. If it continues like that, then it will be a long, struggling race, hopefully getting some low points via strategy. The best they can hope for is to learn something about the car.

If car gets into the sweet spot by some miracle, then anything is possible with some SC/red flag, but this is the less likely scenario.

What a shitshow. All that Yuki data helped so much that both cars are out in Q1. The floor conspiracy theories are also dead in the water? Max was using the Monza floor afterall.

So basically they are rolling the dice to get a decent setup after retiring the car from parc fermè ? good luck.

it's not a given that it will work out today, of course, but I think it makes sense nonetheless. Adding a new engine before Vegas is always a good choice, and this year potentially even more so, since no one else brought in a new PU for months.
