I don't know what issue Norris had, but he was loosing so much it looked like DNF coming. Too close...
Sky claimed it was fuel saving

Piastri has ultimate pace similar to Norris from what I can tell (if they were equalised) but when he gets close to a car in front he seems to get too aggressive and makes mistakes.
Hard to say if it's a strength of weakness. I think the aggressiveness has often allowed him to make up places. But if it doesn't come off it kills his tyres - I wonder a little if the McLaren wasn't so good on its tyres how it would be,

It was not comfortable seeing Lando 4 seconds off the pace with a few laps to go but hung on in the end

Eh. Come next Race. Norris probably gets the title. We knew pretty much that Las Vegas was advantage Red Bull.

Lando knew he had tonnes of time behind so he might as well use it up. He probably decided to ham it up a bit too so that the post-race narrative becomes more "nursing issue" and less "botching start". Anyways, he's basically home free now, so he did what he needed to do today.

Of course we all wanted a win, but if someone had asked us before Las Vegas whether a P2 and P4 would be okay, our answer would definitely have been “yes,” no matter who the winner was.
So let's move on to Qatar and hope Abu Dhabi will be only for the statistics.
I personally liked Lando’s mentality at the start. He was bold, he was aggressive, he tried something different… all good from my side.
And I prefer this scenario, losing positions at the start, rather than being P1 and then from lap 46 or 47 starting to lose four seconds per lap and getting passed by Max on the final lap.

So what does Norris have to do in the next race at a minimum to secure championship? Let say Max win next one, what position Norris needs to secure championship?

Depends on Oscar. But its 42 points to Max so, he needs to lose less than 17 points over the weekend to Max.

And needs to not lose 5 points to Oscar.

Subject to the result today all being fine.

Essentially, Max can take the title only with Norris being taken out or due to car issues. Let's see how much luck we have left...

---, that's a DSQ for plank wear.

Why can't we have it easy. Norris with 24 points ahead of both Max and Piastri.

If he beats them in Qatar he is the champion. Goal is clear, maximum pressure. Two chances left.
