If Newey stays TP for the whole of 2026 i expect them to put a ceo in a Zac Brown type role, to deal with media, sponsors etc. Possibly Horner if Newey wants him there.

If they can operate without one (at present), why add someone else to the cost cap?

You see it in IT a lot. Techies falling upwards. Terrible managers.

Ridiculous and doesn’t bode well for next year. Newey talking to media 24/7 being the face of the team? I don’t believe it, it must be an interim position over the winter with someone else coming at the start of next year. Possibly Horner.
I don't think so. Newey wants full control, and now he has it. He can delegate the tasks he doesn't want to do to others. Take Ferrari 25 years ago, where Ross Brawn did most of the interviews. It could be similar at Aston Martin, with someone else taking over these tasks. This is purely about control over the team and everything that goes with it. With this "title," he has that. Someone else will take over the typical tasks of a TP. Even if Newey has to agree to certain things, someone else will take over. Mike Krack, for example.
No point calling him TP if he's just going to delegate 75% of what that job is, better to put someone else in that position then and call Adrian CTO or something. Give him full power to make decisions about the car, factory, engineering staff etc. But the TP position means being the face of the team, taking interviews, doing PR events, going to FIA meetings, being present at the races, marketing, HR, race team etc. Those aren't Adrian's strengths. Delegating all of that to someone else and still calling him TP would just be confusing and IMO poor leadership.

This to me feels like a short term solution before someone else is brought in to deal with those tasks, Adrian can be the interim TP over the winter when 90% of the focus is anyways on what he does well which is developing the car.
IF Newey really has to do "Team-Principal"-things and duties from now on, AM will waste his strength. Newey is no Ross Brawn.

And Newey with some similarities with Stella, letting, encouraging and guiding people to do their best.

Stella is / was also a "tech profile" but seems that (papaya rules aside) he has fitted and worked well as TP.

Like I said. Just because Newey is the TP, doesn't mean that Cowell can't attend all those functions. Cowell is the CSO, so fits right in. Think a little outside the box. I have no idea what Newey is gonna do but don't just presume he's gonna be a TP like Horner was.

I'm amazed by the number of people you all know. And almost even more so by the number of executive positions that seem to be possible in an F1 team.

What I like most is seeing Newey as the tribe's shaman. Above him, His Royal Highness the tribal chief. And then the warriors: the tribe's prince and El Cid Campeador with their respective squires. The point is that the head shaman practices good magic, His Royal Highness the chief keeps paying the bills, and the warriors get nice loot. All the CEOs, marketing managers, and assistant vice presidents shouldn't go near the pits during practice, and even less so during the race... everything has its time and place. It's best not to stir things up.

As usual on Fridays, the car doesn't seem to be doing badly.

They should have tried to keep the car low on several times / races to be honest as Alonso said.
Finishing P15 is not interesting so let's try
