Peter Bayer said that one of Lawson's tires (must be the hard) had a cut, so they weren't allowed to use it anymore in the end. Let's hope it was just a coincidence...

About strategy, he said that the Soft is a pure qualifying tire which wouldn't hang on for more than six or seven laps. It'll be (2x) medium & hard for the race.

edit: about the forced two-stopper he said, that according to their calculations, it's 20s slower than a one-stopper they would otherwise do.

Mclaren have been low all season, its part of the design. As long as they get tge setup right, they should be fine.

And LV was an outlier fir them.

Interesting result. McLaren messed up the timing there, I think. Norris started his lap with 1s on the clock, right behind Albon.

Nothing suspicious at all. Couldn’t drive the car for four or five weekends, now McLaren need him to fend off MV for a 1-2 in the championship, he’s bags pole.

Nice to see Tsunoda have a decent pace, for once. Hopefully he leaves F1 on a more positive note.

On that matter, apart from Gasly, all the drivers knocked out on SQ1 should not be in F1, it will be good for the series when they all leave their seats for better drivers out there

This is a joke, yeah?

Or its Piastri is good at tracks he's good at, and struggles at tracks he doesn't like

More the latter one, he prefers high grip tracks, this is where he is at his best, and Qatar historically treated him nicely.

Tire update (tbc):

Everyone made it through SQ on at least one M of <=6 laps, so should be fine to use it in the sprint. I guess most will.

ugh

Pirelli chief engineer Simone Berra said the belief was that the cuts are being caused by loose gravel that has been dragged onto the track and kerbs by cars running wide. [...]

“At the moment we are not, let's say, concerned,” he said. “But obviously we need to take into account any possible implication during the sprint and during the race if the situation can create some issues on the tyre, or some punctures potentially.

“Obviously the FIA also will monitor the situation in terms of gravel on track, and they can possibly use a red flag or a safety car to clean the track."

Would be important to know which teams were affected, because some of those cut sets were probably planed to be used again later in the weekend.

Now i am very curious about Max his plank wear you could clearly see him dragging it and leaving stripes all over the track.
You cannot tell me his plank is within limits now
