Newey saying Cowell volunteered to move to the power unit integration role, and it left the TP role open. And I just noticed he said "Since I am going to be doing all the EARLY RACES anyway" he did it himself. So when does the actual Horner gardening leave end? Very interesting that he said early races.
Yes, it does sound like someone else will be taking on some of the more tedious responsibilities of TP later. I just wish Newey was in Silverstone right now and not having to waste his time halfway around the world.
Cowell is TP until new year, so I think Newey is in Qatar because he wants to this weekend.

Volunteered. That's one way to put a spin on it.

Horner can join a new team from April next year. This was my first thought when the announcement was made. Good pick up from Newey's interview. I think Newey also removes a bureaucratic step in whatever changes he wants to make to the team by this step. Now he can do it directly. I think its a short term arrangement.

I think its possible this move wasn't as acrimonious as the media rumors are making it out to be because Cowell still maintains a very senior and critical role in the team. Normally, when high profile people are "demoted", they are either let go entirely or moved out of the team.

Yeah, they seemed to have ignored him in sq3. However, he got fair screen time in sq1, and sq2. In fact it was plentiful. Great job 'Zo!

yeah i noticed that too. either way, i highly doubt that he would prolong his career, only to get himself stuck into a position where hes doing exactly what he doesnt want to do.

Yes FNTC's statement was very insightful. Good catch and follow up.
