Following his sensational lap in Saturday's qualifying which saw Charles Leclerc claim a shock pole position for Ferrari, the Monegasque endured a heartbreaking result at the Hungarian Grand Prix despite his impressive pace during his first two stints of the race. F1Technical's senior writer Balazs Szabo delivers his latest analysis in his column branded as F1MATHS.
This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
What rubs me the wrong way is that the drivers knew and supported the cancellation of developments for this year in order to focus on next year. Yet every weekend they are whining about a car for which they know the reasons already. Maybe this is why Elkann wanted the drivers to talk less. Whats the point of fresh whining every weekend as if it's a surprise that they are not competitive? Why are the drivers expecting to win races with a car that hasn't been developed since the spring?
Frederic Vasseur also clarified that the decision was taken in full agreement with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. “This choice was shared by everyone in the team. We agreed to concentrate the wind tunnel resources we had on 2026. And the drivers took part in this decision — they are fully committed to the project. In situations like this you have to act as a team, and that’s exactly what we did at that point in the season.”

Lewis 'must be the car' Hamilton strikes again...yet teammate Charles can pull the car up the order. Jokes over now.
dude... max p4 and p15 is only about 2 tenths apart. ham struggling in a car that he did not have any input on and hamstrung by limited development budget cap era. they were fukd after china and have only been trying to claw back ever since. ham so far is the only one to have won anything this season.

Easy to understand the team had no development plan for this season.
They play Russian roulette with the setup every race, then they expect the pilot to do the magic. Some pilots fighting their lives to show leadership, but bro when the car is bad it is bad no matter how many Elkan prayers you do per day. Let's wait 2026
“And suddenly I realized that I was no longer driving the car consciously. I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension.”
