Can anyone explain why there was no Marlbroro brand names on the Ferrari this weekend? Have I missed something? All the other tobacco sponsorship was in full view.
Cheers
Well in America, tobacco sponsors are only allowed to sponsor one major event during a year. Apparently, Marlboro was seen on other cars in other series (I think it's in CART), so they could not be shown on the Ferrari this weekend.
Also note Benson and Hedges was replaced by another word combination too at Jordan.
Location: Covilhã, Portugal (and sometimes in Évora)

Well....what TOmba said is true but there is also another publicity rule that tabaco companies have to follow but it is only aplicable in certain states....that is that only one tabacco brand may sponsor an event.....combining both....means that Marlboro couldn't have their brand on the cars......
Correction note for tomba...Marlboro sponsors team Pensky in the IRL not in CART...
before 1997 Marlboro only paid the drivers. beut since 1997 the sponsererd ferrari. Before 1997 the where the sponser of Mclaren. But since 1997 all the marlboro money is for Ferrari .
