Mclaren won't lose in Abu Dhabi on pace, it will either have to be a driver mistake, collision, or strategy blunder. Red bull needs to be quicker than Mercedes and Ferrari which isn't a guarantee. It's still a long shot but at least there's some hope of something extra ordinary happening.
yeah I agree, we're not winning this on pace on a normal race, need something "strange" to happen to Lando (mistake, technical problem, strategy blunder); the positive is that Lando will sh*t his pants every day till next sunday and will be at a nerve wreck, so there's chance he'll fuc*up something.

Nice blunder by mclaren to give Max an unexpected win. The car was around 0.3 - 0.5s off on average but still managed to bag it.
Antonelli really dropped the ball by letting Lando trough. This now means norris needs only 3rd position instead of 2nd in Abu Dhabi. Realistically Piastri will let him trough no matter what happens, even if it means dropping a few positions, or they will just box him out of the way, so we need at least two cars that are not mclaren in between Max and Lando to win the championship. Tall order.
See I've been thinking about this, what if it is Verstappen P1, Piastri P3, Norris P4, would Piastri give P3 to Norris? I know Mcl would want that for sure, but would Piastri really do that? For some reason I just can't see it happening.

Pretty sure Oscar would run into some "issues" then...

Or Oscar would not just do it, a couple of days later he will get that phone call from Helmut Marko and will join Red Bull. :D

Also Q3 will be crucial, Max and Oscar are still the outsiders, with half the race down in points. But one small mistake by Lando in qualy, and its really on. I will sleep good today.

I think we will sleep good next sunday anyway. Max should have never been in this position, 12 points with one race to go, against that monster of a car. Truly shows how of a goat he is and how better he's been this season compared to papaya boys.

For sure. Almost every race there is a driver error by the McLaren drivers. Often more than one. Both chewed up their floors today. Max was picture perfect.

if mclaren picked one driver these championship should have been over longtime ago.norris came with 24 points advantage if they choise him he should have sealed the deal for these race in that case you dont have to worry about who lose in terms of pitstop ,other than that piastri at one point had a 104 points over Max so if mclaren stood behind him and not allow their drivers to fight out they would have been less pressure and mistakes and championship fight would have been long over

Haha, I for sure thought Kimi had been the victim of some kind of order there, the way the feed missed his mistake it looked like he just pulled to the side. But it was just a mistake. Quite clumsy though because he didn't need to push that hard, he had a bit of margin with his SL speed.

Still miraculous to go into the final race 12 points behind. Max is a machine.

Kimi is stil young. He pushed like a madman. He was doing really well. It would be a shame if Max just misses it. He deserves the title.

AD is the track I've had least hope for since a while back, RB had no pace there last year. Realistically I think Lando still needs a shocker there, probably a DNF. I don't see 3 cars beating him on pace, or more like 4 cars since Oscar will pull out of the way in case he needs to.

he was closing in on Sainz, probably still believing in the podium himself. Lost it in the dirty air

It was a bit foolish, he was more than a second back at that stage with only one lap to go. He would have needed to close like 6-7 tenths in one sector to have a shot.

Norris even with 0.5s out of the final corner couldn't even get close to an overtake, overtaking was out of the question without a huge tire delta like Piastri with his move on Kimi, even then Kimi was caught napping a bit, closing the inside line would have not allowed Piastri to complete the move.

If max wins we need 2 cars in between that are not mclaren, that is the simplest explanation.
