Reminds me of when they recruited Marcin Budkowski. He's gone now...

Looks like Alpine have recruited Jason Somerville from FIA
Is it good or bad hire?

Btw: Flavio just announced that next year target is P6 in constructors.

WOW - nothing more to say.

Well... they will have best engine in 2026, or at least no disadvantage.
They are preparing for 26 since long time.

In a way, it is realistic: Mclaren / Ferrari / Mercedes / Red Bull and in a way Aston are the top teams (at least in terms of size and people).
So 6th is the new "best of the rest"

But that also means that they are just targeting this SAME target of best of the rest they have since they are back in 2016, fighting with Williams I presume.

They were supposed to be a top team .

Its another proof that they are not willing to be a top team.

They are satisfied with what they were achieving since 2016 - a midfielder team, with some lucky podiums.

Only this year "was broken".

We all were hoping that since they've been focusing on 2026 since quite a while, it will result in decent car. Well... they are just not willing to do so.

Its a marketing baner not a team.

Yes this is the key takeway.

- The team will cost them basically 0 euro.
- They have now a client engine.
- And a spot in F1, which is now very highly valued.

So it makes sense to just be in the midfield, on top of that the brand Alpine itself will not do great in the future, they only have two E.V vehicles etc.

So let's see, obviously since it will cost them zero and they have a spot, they need to keep this team as long as possible.
In the futur they can rebrand it Renault, Dacia or whatever, so I believe they will stay here, but I don't have high hopes for them

You are right besides Alpine future as a brand. The a110 sales reached the maximum production capacity. A290 had a good welcome and nice sales already.

The only thing I would do being them, I would rebrand Megane RS and continue this hothatch under Alpine brand.

A110 is finished now, they are producing the last 1500 until summer 26'
Yes the A290 is a nice R5 upgraded, and is selling OK, but not incredible.
And I have doubt about the SUV

People wants thermical sports / Fun car, not EV.
EV is fine and the future for daily, commute, family cars.

Sports cars needs to stay mechanical

Oh ---, they are going to end A110! This is an error.

They need to stay mechanical, even with this singular, purely coupe car. The rest can be EV surrounding this one classic model.

Let's see the SUV - many people buy electric cars for performance.

In the end I'm pretty sure they will either don't stop A110 or get back with it after strong lifting. They sold 30000 of them!

Besides sponsorship money, why did Flav keep Colapinto? He's the king of mistakes and Q1 exits. Wouldn't Doohan have been a little better in retrospect?

Because the only reason for this team to exist is making money and being marketing platform for owners?

Goodbye Renault powertrain, it's been a while since you were good but I still hope this isn't goodbye forever.

Do we know if Renault participated in any of the discussions about future V8 regs?

Zero points and a pint of cola...

Nothing for Colapinto this year. I was in the camp thar Doohan should not have been letgo. Colapinto is quick at times but he has never shown any magic. Firm midfield driver at best.

SOME people want EV sports cars. There is room for both in the market.

Jack Doohan will leave the Alpine Formula 1 team ahead of the 2026 season, with both sides agreeing to part ways. I wonder where he will be racing next 🤔

Renault is about to KILL VIRY totally and withdraw from WEC.

What a shame :(
