Yes, it is what it is. Cause all three had a very good season, with ups and downs. Lando my have some regrets over Canada, Zandvoort, Austin sprint, Vegas DSQ and other small mistakes from him (Saudi quali) or from the team (some really bad pitstops, Qatar strategy).
On the other hand this my apply also to Oscar (who let something on the table after the summer brake, with a peak on Baku) but also him was let down by the team in several occasions.
Even Max can think at Hungaroring, at Spielberg (when he was taken out with no fault on his side) and some races in the mid-season where the gap reached 104point to the leader.
So yea, this is the last race and what was is past. I hope for a great and clean race and the best (McLaren)* may win.

*I hope last year race gave us a hint who that might be

Max deserves it a lot more since he has extracted most out of every GP this year, apart from Spain. Our drivers were good too, but they have not always maximised where they could, making errors a bit too often. Obviously I hope a McLaren driver lifts the WDC trophy. But if Max takes it home, I could live with that as it would be well deserved.

Well, don’t think so. All things said and done it has been two amazing years. An amazing turn around story...from dead last to double champions. The team has given the fans great memories this year. Even if they mess up the WDC at the end... It's not the end of the world.

Exactly this. People tend to forget very quickly, and as the saying goes: "you are only as good as your last race". Norris went from average to legend to everage in 5 races.....

The last couple of races were hard on me as well, don't be fooled (and as McLaren fans, we have even been through much worse), but this team did what the rest of the grid could not, and what everyone thought was not possible: overhauled RedBull in these regs. Let's not forget.

On one hand, I am downed by not having wrapped this up in Qatar, on the other, I am gratefull for that we are fighting for World Championships again!

I think Lando also struggled to adapt his driving style to be able to get the most from the car, prior to geometry changes to suit him earlier this year.

Likewise Oscar can't adapt his driving style to succeed on low grip tracks.

There's another parallel George might like. A McLaren driver won his first WDC after failing the previous year in 2008, the mast year before a big rules reset.

The following year another Brit won his first WDC driving for the Brackley team.....
