Just watched Ted's Notebook. I find it hard how anyone can genuinely not like Lando. He seems like such a lovely guy.

I can imagine their humiliation. All year they were calling the mediocre this, mediocre that. Makes me wonder how do they feel that these supposed mediocre drivers beat them royally without team preference, without B-Teams, having to contend with double standards inside the FIA and their own team costing them points. Imagine if the team didn't give up the car in the middle of the season and had a better strategy how many points behind their former champion would be. The end of an era and the start of a new one is hard to be accepted my friends.

Enjoy the double, kudos to the whole team and let's go make it double back to back in 2026.

Had social media been so prevalent in our lives back in 2010 as it is now, I wonder what kind of cesspool of reactions we would have seen to Vettel winning that title at Abu Dhabi when Alonso was the fan favorite. Sad to see how cancerous the online world has been this season. I am hoping it changes for the better going forward, but somehow I doubt that.
100% agree. It's a shame it's bled it's way into these forums too, but glad there are still plenty sensible folk on here.

What a season though! Just looking back 3 short years ago, the brake debacle at Bahrain testing after what had been a steady improvement the two years before. What a meteoric rise it's been since, to dominate and retain the WCC by a mammoth 364 points, and now Lando as WDC, who has been on this journey each step of the way. We dreamt of this one day, but I didn't think it would come so soon.

Shame it's a formula reset next season, the pecking order will most definitely be jumbled up. We may need to be patient for a while, but confident in the team Zak and Andrea have built will remain in the mix.

It's been a pleasure folks!

Agreed. I remember him shaving his hair off, on a live stream, for charity, when Covid kicked off, he really is just a normal, down-to-earth guy who makes the world a better place, and despite the fame, he still the same now as he was then

Also interesting that the Piastri move was sort of pre planned

Also congrats that the McLaren thread wins the page count championship on F1T again after a strong come-from-behind victory after we seemed out of it early in the season :D
when ? they were always the contenders for both championships, right from Bahrain testing. What are you on about ?

enjoy the championship, but don't get delirious, please.
i think he watched the first part of 2023 then the mid part of 2024 then the last few races of 2025 😊

I imagined that it was. Gave them the opportunity to put pressure on Max without sacrificing Lando's tires.

I think he had some unlikeable moments over the last few years that really put people against him, like him saying that Lewis should win everything with the car he had back in 2020, to then later having the best car and not making the most of it, or him sort of telling Lewis off when he got complimented for having a good car.
Also, the fact that he repetedly crumbled under pressure, mainly when fighting Max directly for position, or the poor starts he had from pole on a number of occasions just gave people (myself included) the impression that his mouth was writing checks his driving couldn't cash, the Hungary race last year didn't do him any favors either.
I do think he's a good guy though, just needs to be more psychologically composed to avoid turning people against him.

17 years waiting for this, a new drivers title. Lando did it! Amazing job from him and the team for this marvellous achievement. Lando is such a great guy. I thought he was too nice to ever become an F1 champion, but I stand corrected. I am happy for him, for his family and the whole team. Congrats to all you guys on here as well. We went through a lot as McLaren fans to get here, finally. Honda years were horrible and it had set us back so much, but this makes it taste all the bit sweeter. Who knows how long it will take until we can celebrate such moments again. Cherish this, guys. Enjoy it fully. Don’t take anything for granted.

Are you guys even reading what he wrote?

He said that McLaren thread on this forum came from behind in post count to win the F1 Techical post count championship.

Kind of hard to take you seriously if you don't read that simple sentence.

After an emotion-filled weekend, despite all the haters both online and here on the forum (to whom I send a sincere and warm: Happy Holidays!), we can say just one thing: LANDO NORRIS IS THE NEW FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPION!

He acts like an entitled dick.

Hes a rich daddy's boy.

He had been at McLaren for almost a decade and pretty much achieved nothing in the sport to have the kind of status he had.

He has an inexplicable hatred towards Lewis Hamilton, who has quite a large following.

That hatred led to him saying bollocks about having the best car means you should win everything so winning when you do have the best car is something he doesnt care about, when he has not won everything when hes had the best car.

Telling Lewis off for complimenting him for being faster in a race he won (?????).

Shitty entitled interview attitudes as though people shouldn't ask him about things that make him feel uncomfortable despite it being part of the job.

Kissing Maxs ass when he races other drivers excessively hard, then crying on TV about it when he gets his turn.

Winning a WDC where a large amount of people dont really understand why his team mate who was dominating in the first half suddenly forgot how to go fast until the point where he could no longer win the WDC and then got fast again for the last couple of races. Or the fact that a large amount of people feel he had to be favoured by the team to get to the stage where he could win win the fastest car on the grid and then still only barely managed to do it, putting him in Damn Hill WDC territory.

Y'know, stuff like that, probably.

Everybody is capable of being lovely when all the cards fall in their favour. Its how they behave when they've just had a gut punch that shows their true character.

Lando has pretty much acted like a spoiled ass before he ever even had to face any real adversity, and has crumbled the few times he really had to.

Hes a WDC and nobody can take that away from him, but hes got a lot more to prove hes deserving. Doubt he cares though. Which is also kinda part of the problem in how anyone might see him as a person.
