Try watching the races on mute, with only the detailed timing+tyres data as supplement to the tv broadcast. It's so much better - we dont get to hear cringe commentary or cringe wisecracks from TPs or PR-coached driver interviews. They anyway show key radio calls as text, so those are not missed. That's how I've been watching lately, and it's 'liberating', believe me.
There wouldn't be much scope for 'blind hatred' of teams/drivers/TPs to develop.
Even so, some times the text messages shown on TV are out of context or laps later than the actual Driver-Pit comm, as was for example in Singapore when seems OP complained about his contact with Lando for half of the race. But this is "actual" world, where DTS artificial drama need to be present in order to attract more to "fans data base". More drama -> more fans, more fans -> more merch, more merch -> more visibility for sponsors => more....exactly! Money!

This list needs major revision.

1. Zak is not cringe. The problem with Zak is he has the self-righteousness of Wolff and the political gamesmanship of Horner, packed into 250 lbs of pure Americana. It's an insufferable combination.
I have not laughed this hard in a quite a while.
Yep. Best explanation of Zak ever.

Well but this is honest and fair criticism. This media orchestra with purely PR-coached interviews is unbearable. This is no personal attack, that is BS that one can call BS.

I think this is unfair black and white.
Me criticizing the media BS they pull off and someone comes and tells I "hate" them. All of them...usual point in this thread. Or me telling I think they make good Nr.2 drivers. I do not hate them, but people start being offended by a simple opinion. Maybe some need to get their nerves together....

But this was at least a honest reaction!

I think the opposite is true. We had Oscar gutted the whole race. Afterwards the media orchestra started and everything was fine...come on...

I didn't say that Oscar reaction wasn't a real one or honest. He expressed his feelings and I am happy with that. But if I remember correct FOM was broadcasting in lap 5 something that Oscar was saying in lap 1. And from here the fans feeling that only thing Oscar is doing is to complain and he is still in lap 1 instead of focus racing. But this is my opinion, some messages are displayed "inappropriate" :)
And also my perception is that live commentary is adding or bringing more tension than the case. As was in Abu Dhabi, when half of the race Alex Jacques was talking that if something happen to Lando then the fight between Max and Oscar for the win is the fight for the title. Ok, we got the idea from the first moment, you don't need to say it 100 times.
Or when Lando made the passes on Stroll, Liam and Yuki. All of them, including Yuki, drove pretty fair, with a plus for Liam who drove perfect against Lando, but if you were closing the eyes and listen only the live commentary, Jesus, was the race of the century :)
Anyway, each one is watching F1 as he likes. And my goal this year is to see more races live than from my couch :)

Everytime I see someone call Lando and Oscar number 2 drivers when they haven't seen an actual number 2 driver shows me how clueless today's community is. You can't really take such comments seriously and especially in social media. And Zak Brown is a saint compared to people like Horner or Briatore.

Have been reading some more or less reliable F1 sources and there is some noise that Mercedes want to drop us as an engine customer in 2030.

Could it be possible to get a engineering partner and maybe...just maybe become an engine manufacturer?

It's always possible, but it's also expensive and risky. There are also plenty of engine manufacturers in F1, so it'd be a struggle to find a second team to supply for data and income. The other question would be wether the 2030 engines would support Mclaren road cars, who are already struggling for profit. How would this impact?

I just don't see it happening.

??
It wasn't even a specific comment I made, I was talking "in general".
What made you think I was addressing you or any of your posts ?

There was extensive discussion of this topic 2-3 pages ago on this thread FYI
