Given how early they have got it on track, and I strongly suspect they are after a consistent reliable basis to build from, I don’t think that is a surprise.
Interesting sidepod upper profile. In the sparking image we can see that the bodywork is somewhat reflective, reflecting the paint line on the track surface.

That’s the best picture I have seen yet, and yes they do seem to be heading in the right direction. Tricky to tell from that angle, but it appears to be a lot shorter than the current super tankers
That's not a photo. It's AI nonsense.Martin Keene wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 11:19That’s the best picture I have seen yet, and yes they do seem to be heading in the right direction. Tricky to tell from that angle, but it appears to be a lot shorter than the current super tankers
exactly. To me, looks like they've used the body of their unveiled concept of last year but with the mechanics and the chassis 2026. Maybe they will use this car for Barcelona tests but I'm sure that they will change a lot in that car for Bahrain tests.mzso wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 11:58That's not a photo. I mean that photo in particular is an AI "enhancement" of captured frame of the poor quality video.Sbrillo88 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 12:29exactly. Dont think that means something as its no real testingAR3-GP wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 05:13Something that surprises me is how small the rear wing is for a circuit like Barcelona. This looks like a Spa or Monza spec wing. You would expect to see larger wings than before because there is no longer a penalty on the straights due to active aero.

That is more or less the new maximal allowed rear wing size. And that make me think they will run this max rear wings at ~70% of all circuits.AR3-GP wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026, 05:13Something that surprises me is how small the rear wing is for a circuit like Barcelona.
