Makes sense, no point in airing the news if you can and are anticipating to profit from it in the foreseeable future (assuming the rumour is true that Red Bull leaked it after the ex-Merc engine guy started working on their project).

I made a similar comment back when this was fresh news. Like who exactly snitched, because if you have an advantage it makes no sense to self report like this.
But on the other hand, RBPT poached a lot of Mercedes engineers, so it's not farfetched to believe they found out about it early enough. I don't rule out the possibility a disgruntled Renault engineer found out about it and leaked it. So I am not ditching those early reports about RedBull having it too just yet. In general, AutoRacer is a trustworthy source, but for things like these, it's better to just wait until we get on track officially and we'll get the answer.

It all could be just trolling, or smoke screen, or false.
The most trustworthy person here, an actual Honda engineer dismissed this as a big thing, writing something like it is something everyone knows and uses to some degree. (Wazari)

When asked about his view on the situations of the teams ahead of the 2026 F1 rules reset, Herbert said: "I've not heard anything from any teams as of yet.
"But I have heard issues with Mercedes when they've tried putting the power units in the back of their car and it didn't start. After rumours that Mercedes were in the strongest position for 2026, it doesn't seem to be the case."

I do not think this is any indicator of performance, but perhaps an interesting "info" here for some :)

Furthermore, F1 has moved away from standard wheel rims and is instead allowing teams to choose their own suppliers once again.

They are giving Mercedes back all their tools for managing tire temperature.

They could also blow the rims back then with brake cooling exhaust.

And when Merc can manage tire temps well, they fly...

Because they conflict with the F1 calendar, and they want Max to be driving one of "their" cars as much as possible.

They're trying to get a qualifying round (for NLS 24 hrs event) moved to not clash with F1 GP (China & Japan) to facilitate MV participation in AMG Merc over those events in NLS series.
