aye?
Has anyone known about this?
The goal of the drivers is to earn the most championship points over the course of the entire season with the car that they are contracted to drive. By nature of competition and the formulation of the rules, some cars will be better than others depending on how well developed they are at different stages in the season. Jenson was contracted to drive a car that was superior to others out of the gate and scored a lot of points early in the season. Enough points in fact, that he didn't have to push as hard as everyone else the remainder of the season. No, he didn't win races at the end of the year, but he still finished with 9 podium finishes and only finished out of the points once, when he got together with Grosjean at Spa. Just because he didn't run away with the championship, doesn't mean he didn't earn it under the same competition rules as every other driver.sunny1304 wrote:... it is clear that jenson isnt a worthy champion.
I count this 'management' of the situation as tosh as well. Brawn and Jenson simply got lucky that a bunch of cars rose to race winning status on the different circuits in the second half of the season and that their main rival did not resort to ruthless team order. Do we need a reminder that Toyota, Williams and even Force India were in contention for race wins in the second half of the season.gibells wrote:From then on he 'managed' the situation, which (as much as I like him, and I do) Lewis failed to do the 2 years before.
Well fact is that he kept his nose out in front. Lucky or not, that is what I call management.WhiteBlue wrote: I count this 'management' of the situation as tosh as well.
sport is not about being in contention for a win, it is about winning.Do we need a reminder that Toyota, Williams and even Force India were in contention for race wins in the second half of the season.

For a bit of balance to this statement, Jenson did win 6 races while Barrichello had the same car at the start of the season. Where was Barrichello then?sunny1304 wrote:barrichello won with brawn while brawn was uot developed.
