Waiting for McLaren I saw this. Is getting ridiculous imo.
You realise that’s a joke… right?

They are not indicators, they are bad weather warning lights, the same as what is on the back of cars already. They are there to increase visibility from a side view in rain.
Hahaha..sure. My getting ridiculous was referring to what social media has become, with 90% crap posts. Like the one with Stroll having same number of victories in 2026 like Lando, Max and Lewis combined. I know Stroll is in F1 because his father owns AM, but the hate or the jokes were good many years ago.

Regarding the new lights, here is a new post:

And among the obvious changes spotted at Barcelona’s shakedown week, there’s one change that has gone slightly unnoticed: the new circular rain light above the diffuser and the new position of the rear wing lights.
Ah.. I see, and my bad!

TBH I agree, stroll is never going to set the track on 🔥, but over the years he’s become a solid no.2. There have certainly been plenty worst - I mean, there is never been a website called hasstrollcrashedtoday.com

Still… Someone’s got to be the butt of jokes

Wait a minute, since when does McLaren have the infrastructure to manufacture an engine? I thought all the custom-built engines the automotive division uses came from Ricardo?

It's just a video of a powertrain dyno run. You're making a lot of assumptions.

I guess it could have still come from Ricardo, but couldn't find anything at this moment.

EDIT: To be honest I haven't really kept up with WEC news since McLaren announced they were joining. But looked around a bit and this is supposedly an engine that's built from the ground up by McLaren, but in collaboration with Autotecnica Motori. Weird collab, but probably it makes sense for their WEC program considering Dallara is manufacturing the chassis.

Tomorrow is the big day as the car is making it's debut tests. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and the car completes every target with a lot of laps each day.

Its built to.Mclarens purpose, I.e. bespoke, you sure that means built by Mclaren.

I am not aware of any facilities for this, and I'd expect to see facilities in the pipeline as I cant imagine them not carrying that tech into the road cars.

Perhaps the engine from McLaren Arthura was used as a basis? What are the engine regulations anyway? If you use stock engines, say, slightly detuned, they'll last a long time under racing conditions. This is usually the case in touring car series. But here, perhaps McLaren redesigned this engine for endurance racing. That's just the first thought that comes to mind. I don’t know.

Amen. Let's hope for the best.

But I'm inclined to believe that, as in recent years, McLaren will continue to operate according to its own program, which doesn't include extensive mileage. Instead, they'll more often invite drivers into the pits, tweak the settings, and then release the car again. The mileage is shorter, but there's an opportunity to test as many settings as possible.

Reading on mclarens endurance page they state McLaren designed and developed the engine and used ATM to build it along side McLarens own engineers doesn’t surprise me there designing there own engines for WEC McLarens been dabbling with hybrids since the p1 back in 2013 albeit through ricardo

No photos yet.

On the positive side, weather looks to be decent for next three days. No rain is being forecast but it's stay cold like previous days.

Before everyone loses their mind, last year McLaren also didn't rush out of the pits, they usually took about an hour before they started testing.
