Aston Martin AMR26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Some winglets, not seen so far on other 2026 cars

I don’t think the front one is a winglet. In the other picture, it’s the front of the halo but unfortunately many pictures appeared to be ai damaged.

Rear leg of the top wishbone seems to be connected so far back almost in line to the halo bulkhead

I don’t think the front one is a winglet, that’s the front of the halo, or a shadow
It's weird because in the picture from the side I also see something there but I it's very possible it's only a shadow. I don't think it's a halo because of the angle, it looks vertical

Underbite sidepod inlets. That's different. Halo side wings. "Devil horn" airbox wings. Packaging around the engine looks extremely tight.

Front wing is like Mercedes. Middle element attachment.

These pics are making me want to punch things.

Will be interesting to see how much these wings still flex under load and how mounting position can influence it.

A floating main plane could theoretically flex lower to create greater downforce at higher speeds.

A fixed main plane with floating mid and upper elements has the possibility to provide negative downforce on straights.

Nose cone vaguely reminds me the 2009 Mercedes W01

Looks like they might have the same scallop under the nose that Audi has.Image

It looks similar to their 2024 car.

Why are the rear suspension arms seem to be floating in mid-air?

From this angle it looks like a more “aggressive” mercedes.

I know is the exit of the engine air but feels like it is a widlet on itself indented on the body
