Aston Martin AMR26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Looking at how non existent the wing angle is on this car (and the fact thats its Newey), im expecting it to have the biggest rake out of all.

Hopefully its nothing to do with power output issue induced low drag design.

So are they hiding their active front wing on purpose or did they not get it ready in time? :-s

Makes me wonder how it does behave under load, I don't see it with enough rigidicity to work properly :?: Anyways is really interesting.

Are they trying to recreate sort of a beam wing?

I think it’s more to do with lifting the lower members up to improve airflow over the diffuser. Top members therefore have to be lifted to achieve desired kinematics.

Looks clear it is for aerodynamics purposes but for the position, geometry composition of the rear overall and height I don't see it like a BW but who knows, you can't discard nothing.

Pull-rod rear suspension? The forward facing lower ‘link’ looks to be very thin.
