Is it just me, or did Lewis still sound quite down in interviews after his run in the car yesterday?

Not sure it says anything about the car performance, but I expected him to sound more upbeat.
Today also, I assume it’s just because they are long days mainly for systems integration. This car is effectively just a basic mileage programme car. I read somewhere the aero package on it was from last summer so I’ll wait until the end of Bahrain 1.

They don’t sound super enthusiastic, any of them tbh.

The difference between their demeanor and that of Merc is striking.
Watching F1 since 1986.

One can bet on this year to be the final year under Vasseur leadership.

I don’t understand why they should be looking extremely excited after years and years of delusions.
As i said, it’s highly unlikely that Ferrari will fight for the championship (as it has been the case since 2013), but judging faces and statements right now is completely useless.

Why? In new regulations era with a total changed car and engine, if they are good but not win the championship, we will throw everyone under the bus again?
Same old story, no one wants this team to stabilize.
You think Toto will loose his place also after all this year's with no results if they don't take championships this year?
Ross Brown when it started, it was wrong that they kept him after the 1st years of no results?

This is the main problem for me with Ferrari. They don't get the peace of mind to work, they constantly change everything because of the constant pressure no matter from where it comes.

It's a new formula guys, everyone needs time. Some will get it right from the beginning, some not but everyone will progress and i personally have high hopes for Ferrari this time.

We need reports also of how many espressos they drink. There must be some index with this.
Jesus Christ.

Ferrari fans are always so negative that we develop in the dark like Fuji film :) , no one knows how good the car is until the first race. As for body language, they are professionals. They show what they want us to see.

I don’t want to delve too hard into hyperbole, but the thing that causes me some concern is that the car seems conservative. Yes, it’s (allegedly) a basic version and new parts will come at the next test/australia, it’s giving me SF15-T vibes.

Looking at the likes of the redbull, McLaren, Aston Martin, the Ferrari is clearly similar in concept - but just looks like they pushed the limits less.

I’m not catastrophising and I’d be happy to be proven wrong, but when I saw the other cars I was struck by how conservative the Ferrari appears.

They just look like people at work. Where they shall be, hard at work.
Which is at this stage a bit more boring.
To me this is fine.
And of course we can not draw any conclusions. This is just a sport people!

Leclerc has just done a 1.16.9 but I know not of what tyres he uses. Soymotor is giving testing information.

Nevermind. The time was set on the medium tyre while the fastest time of Mercedes (1.16.4) was done on the soft tyre.

Laptime analysis right now is also close to useless. Race sims in Bahrein will provide useful data and we’ll also have telemetry.

Still, reliability seems on point for now which is always a good thing. No major issues that hampered their programs.
