Yes but the AM is even tighter. For example the MCL seems to still carry a saddle centerline cooling system, which makes the airbox cover look relatively longer and thicker, while AM somehow managed to shrink that area too.pronopheus wrote: ↑09 Feb 2026, 18:09I dont understand why there is so much talking about a radical Aston Martin. Nah, not really, Mcl does not have this massive cooling outlets in the middle, where u can put a head into. The sidepods are similar in size. Nose is way more compact.Blackout wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 06:42Aero often outweighs CoG.

I have no idea. I’m just a spectator when it comes to this sort of stuff.Blackout wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 06:42Aero often outweighs CoG.

AM’s side openings will not feature on their finalised race car. They were part of the temporary solutions used to enable them to test the power unitpronopheus wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 14:10Yes, but there are these massive AM outlets near the centerline, is this air not disadvantageous?
Within the 250mm leeway in how the cockpit is positioned relative to the front axle, McLaren (like Mercedes and Red Bull) appears to have brought them closer together than Ferrari and Aston Martin and because of the way the dimensions are defined, this has allowed a higher nose.

U know that or is that a guess?the EDGE wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 14:21AM’s side openings will not feature on their finalised race car. I don't know for certain, but it's more than a guess. For start, they still have the usual cooling exit in the usual place, so no need for these extra openings unless they were concerned about overheating, we also know the AM is far from a finished car and was just what they cobbled together to ensure they got to run the PU, finally, it's far too much of a clumsy solution for an AN carpronopheus wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 15:03U know that or is that a guess?the EDGE wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 14:21AM’s side openings will not feature on their finalised race car. Maybe, maybe not. It could be, they need that solution cause of the lack of center cooling. They can not beat physics.the EDGE wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 15:42I don't know for certain, but it's more than a guess. The front tire sizes all match to scale and are aligned but have to consider that the 3 of the 4 images are of the cars on track where as mclaren is a renderDe Wet wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 14:35The Race:

Interesting. Mclaren looks shorter than the other cars ? Or just optical illusion again.
I never saw a mouse hole during the shakedown but this looks like one for sure here.Emag wrote: ↑09 Feb 2026, 17:43This car is very very tight.

That's not a mousehole, it's just the gap from the diffuser side wall to the diffuser winglet.BigBeansBoy wrote: ↑10 Feb 2026, 17:10I never saw a mouse hole during the shakedown but this looks like one for sure here.Emag wrote: ↑09 Feb 2026, 17:43This car is very very tight.
