Very interesting episode:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Az-lu5UqSs
43:30 onwards was discussion about the weight of RB22. It sounds like they are overweight.
Perhaps they are taking conservative approach to start with an over engineered car to ensure reliability during testing before they decide on the weight trim. If the team go aggressive from the start, it may end up jeopardizing their pre season testing with costly failures etc

If only there was some method or a device, maybe electronic one that can send sound over distances so you can bug the engine team without having to walk over.

At least mileage is looking good, Verstappen putting in plenty of laps so far.

What I meant is just this is a positive, and I don't know about lap times, what do they mean, etc.

Ah, a theorist!

I worked at a multinational and witnessed that a flight of stairs can be enough to screw up cooperation.

There is no substitute for having lunch together.

Verstappen had what looked to be a small issue, after T1 he was very slow, only 30-40km/h on the straight up to T4. Then afterwards he got on the throttle and pitted afterwards. He was soon leaving the pits once again so it wasn't a big issue. Maybe some kind of a sensor thing or similar. Thought I'd share what I saw on the telemetry.

This new livery does pop a bit more in the sun than the old one.Image

This is encouraging for a team building their own engine for the first time. To cover 77 lap and setting quickest timing show the car and engine is reliable.

Yeah very impressive. This was first hickup they had with the car and it was a minor issue.

Max lap time and consistency is pretty impression for first day on track. The warmer temperature at Bahrain may be more suited for RB.

Max seemed to be the only one who was doing "proper" long runs actually. The rest were in different run plans with most doing push-cool-push sequences.

I am just not doing too much telemetry analysis at the moment because this livetiming data is quite volatile. At the end of the day, once everything gets parsed properly into FastF1, we can have a better look at what's going on during those long runs telemetry-wise.
