A lot of laps and they can easily find pace when they want to. Very good first day so far for RedBull

I keep looking at the laptimes in 'bursts' once in a while, and it seems Verstappen is driving like a machine. Bodes well. Hope Hadjar has it smooth tomorrow and doesn't go into 'I have to beat my teammate' mode and push too much and end up crashing (which can waste the 3rd day).

Hey, I didn't say RedBull are the benchmark

But it is definitely a good day though. They have done a lot of laps today, and whenever they tried push laps, Max delivered with pace which we can say it's good (for that little we know so far)

136 laps. Just 2 laps short of Williams who did the most (138)

I can't understand why people still take the bait with Wolff. Him saying nice things about other teams means the Mercedes is quick.

I'm not buying what he's selling, but the reliability is impressive.

There was a lot of meat left on the bone in S2 and S3 on that final lap. Mistake in T8, lock-up in T10, and rears going off in S3. I'm not too sure about this C3 tyre tbh, the C2 looks much more robust at the end of the lap. Max's C2 lap in the morning was arguably better when corrected for temperature and track evolution than those C3 runs. Lando likewise could not improve on the C3 vs the C2.

Max is really really good in T4. And your point about the tires could be true, although track temp at the end of the day was a couple of degrees cooler compared to Norris set his lap with the C2s. Might have just been Max overpushing it a bit.
