What happened to the talk of Spec A for Barcelona, spec B for Bahrain ? It seems it was the same car today. Any new parts coming in ?
As I was saying. I doubt there will be Spec B. Especially in testing. I don’t remember when was the last time They brought totally different car vs launch spec.
I don’t know what you imagine when saying Spec A and B, but it does not necessarily mean bringing a completely new car.

The talk of the current car being a baseline version is correct and was confirmed by Hamilton:
With the baseline car we have, we’re still trying to test different solutions. We are still looking for the ideal operating window. We’ll need to handle it carefully. Also, it’s the first day here, and mornings are never the most enjoyable. But overall, as I mentioned in the last test, it’s a more fun car to drive.

Anyone convinced yet car is good ? Why is Hamilton spinning so much? Can we realistically challenge ?
For what, the title? Highly unlikely.
The expectations around the Ferrari F1 team have changed drastically over the past 10 years or so where now getting on the podium with a few occasional wins over a season is considered a huge success.

Challenging for the titles is not even in the conversation.

Season didn’t even start and the two biggest Ferrari bashers and constant moaners existing in this thread are ready for action.

We may need to create a “2026 Post season Ferrari team thread” we’re clearly already there.

Did Leclerc say anything about the energy management like Hamilton did?

Lets not be too hasty in judgement here. Maybe the car has issues with slow speed corners. Or maybe they are just testing different operating windows and setup configs. Its too early to tell, especially with the new engines. Even if the car does have some slow speed cornering issues, imo its still okay, especially if the car is good in high-speed corners. Previously in a lot of seasons (2017, 2019, 2022) Ferrari have had good enough mechanical/aero setup to be good at slow speed corners but the car performance peaks out a bit early in high-speed corners, where Mercedes and Mclaren in particular outshine them.

So if the philosophy was to have the car perform its best in high speed corners and then bring performance to slow-speed ones then I am completely satisfied. One car that comes to mind is the 2018 Mercedes which was called a 'diva' with its performance in slow speed corners earlier in the season but the car excelled at high-speed ones. They then brought performance to the slow-speed corners.

It's very hard to read too much into driver comments about car behavior when their points of comparison are the previous regulation cars, not where they are relative to all the current competition(also in the same position), which they wont have a great idea of just yet.

ALL cars this year should feel a bit more nervous and require a bit more work through slow corners, for instance.

For me, the car seems to be in no mans land. Doesn’t seem slow, hasn’t shown the performance like Red Bull.

Hamilton did complain about it being much windier and hotter than in Spain. Maybe that's troubling the team to get the car into the right window. Leclerc looked more comfortable in the evening session though.

He just said (paraphrasing) it's windy and dirty and morning driving sucks anyway.
