Mercedes have experienced an engine problem after only 3 laps.

People are poiting fingers too quickly on Honda.

Mercedes has three other teams running their engines without problem.

Matteo Bobbi (ex driver, technical commentator for Sky Italy) said he talked to someone from AM and they described the Honda PU as "really bad", with Honda already working on the next engine project.
They apparently also expect to get some help from ADUO.

I'm not sure if I'm buying what they are selling, though. Could be sandbagging too. They are running limited RPMs so far. I think they will turn up the engine little by little. But maybe it's crap. We will see in the next weeks.

When I criticized Honda here, saying they would be a disgrace, people wrote huge articles judging me. Well, it seems we're going to have another pathetic and painful year, guess whose fault it is?
When u read things about pre season, looks worsen than 2015. Its incredible. OR they are sandbagging a lot, but, the history doesnt show it. We're saying they're limiting the engine, but, are they? The engine could be so bad that even at maximum speed it doesn't reach 320. We dont know, but even anything, the first impressions are absolutely terrible.

I've been with these same bad feelings in the back of my head from the day it was released the Aston & Honda agreement.

There are people doing mental contortionism to downplay the fact that Honda dismantled / selled in 2021 the UK based personnel and knowhow. Even Honda stated that they would be forming a brand new team in Japan when they decided to not leave F1.

The implication being that if it's really four seconds there are far more issues than the engine. That's also what Stroll said, no?

Or he was just talking about the lap times so far, in which case he is correct.

For some Alonso fans, this brings back PTSD from 2015. For others, we are sadly resilient from adversity like this.

The only question is : do Honda have already a B version of the engine that will be ready for race 7 (after ADUO kicks in)

Of course they also have chassis issues but being late this is expected and not a huge worry
