It’s still quite high pressure, it just gets forced through it.
If the side louvres and adjacent large opening are doing what I think they're doing, they're not relying on high pressure to "force" air through the sidepods, but instead creating an area of low pressure behind those openings to "suck" air through the sidepods. That means there's no need for a high pressure area per se, but instead the "protruding lower lip" of the sidepod inlet can steer air down beneath the undercut, whilst air from above the nose can be pulled into the sidepods.
If correct, it basically allows for an entirely different flow regime to most teams' designs. Whether it works or not is, of course, another matter. It might even be possible to pull in the air flowing over the top of the tyre into those inlets.
