Aston Martin AMR26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

this car needs a cooling system rethinking, reminds me of the 2022 Aston car had the same double floor extreme undercut sidepods but switch to the other types later in the season
So is this another MP4-18?

It looks as though they have borrowed the McLaren steering rack!!

Good Lord that arm has a ridiculous angle on it. How does this effect kinematics?

Compared to Red Bull and McLaren, where the lower part of the suspension is so back, its the top part here?

Next test we should see what the real race car looks like. Newey has a penchant for holding onto parts as late as possible.

the car will definitely get a new front wing once the engine is up to its job.

Some good images there, interesting detail in close up.

And very clearly mzso .... its a cover over the exhaust, definitively so. In all reality to marshall heat radiance locally.

Unfortunately I'm getting F92A vibes from this undercut; it is almost like Migeot's double floor concept.
In the sense that it had a good aero concept, but took the blame for Ferrari's weak engine?

Cool. But on that image it was only a shadow over the shielding that was thought to be a shielding. It was described as "black". Actually a lot like the image right after your comment, but the light coming from a different angle.

Honda also running their engine detuned but high stress. I expect them to come back to the 2nd official test with a significantly uprated engine. That 2nd engine project was started some time ago.

I am more impressed by how they exhaust pipe is intermingling among the suspension parts than the pylon mounted arms.
