My thoughts exactlyReal PJ's Beard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026, 19:28The big focus now is day one next test. If they are running on normal power and not suffering with reliability then that's good. If we see a detuned engine for the next test, then there's a ver loud alarm bell that will be ringing out
25% plausible, 75% desirableRikrikrik wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026, 22:13I tried to find the article but i didnt, but, i read about the issues. Its a gearbox integration with PU where somethings causes vibrations in hightests RPM and the sensors and cranckshaft send messages (wrongly) to sofware to limit the engine because the sofware "thinks" they are coming to blow up ( but its not true) adn they RPM stay limited. I think they have problems about the a lot of new stuff from inside own walls. The restore from the batterys is fine but they cant measuare because the recharge needs "full power" and they cant used it, because of that their battery discharge more quickly than other teams. anyways, looks much more problems about news stuff and integrations and sinergy between all combine pieces instead a Terrible engine by Honda.
That sounds like its more Aston Martin’s fault. The gearbox was late and not tested together with the engine. Something like this should have been caught at the chassis dyno stage.Rikrikrik wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026, 22:13I tried to find the article but i didnt, but, i read about the issues. Is it not a bit like driving behind a safety car and a chain event of not enough speed to generate heat in the tyres, then not enough grip? The engine is a significant driver to what is happening if all rumours are true. The chassis won't be pushed enough to know the limits if speed restrictions exist.Real PJ's Beard wrote: ↑13 Feb 2026, 19:35I do wonder though with some of the running we saw today, how much of the deficit is split between engine, aero, and grip. Visually the car needs to move closer to its sweetspot in terms of setup, but it's not until we see the engine at normal output that we'll see how much of the blame lies on AM's hands
