Ferrari SF-26

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If you click the link it'll open the photo. This one is a shot of flow-vis on the Ferrari diffuser
For me it just loads the same placeholder, upgrade-prompt image.
Who is your ISP? Do you have a VPN running?
No VPN. ISP is "One", I doubt it says much.

Polite request to post to somewhere other than Imgur, it's blocked in the UK :(

Strange, you should be able to see the images fine. Maybe try on your phone via mobile data and see if that makes a difference. Might help rule it out.

It seems like every hoster is blocked in half the countries nowadays.

Blown rear wing. Exhaust will just shoot straight up.
Yea it's a blown diffuser, no?

Would the exhaust gas not "roll" over that plate? I'd love to see some rudimentary CFD on this with some very fast flowing exhaust gasses added.

Vortism, hope your day job isn't getting in the way of having fun with F1 CFD!

The "angle of attack" on that little plate is wild, it's like 80 degrees lol

It also looks like it's an inch or two away from the exhaust tip, though it must be further away than that right? The inelegance of this "innovation" is very amusing.

I like the term, inelegance :)
However we did not see the other side of it, and its surroundings in detail. Those might be super important. And perhaps this is not even its final version.
But I quite like it as an innovation, 100% it creates a very different flow structure above and around the diffuser and the rear wing.

Although very far from being an aero/cfd expert, it nearly feels to me as if part of the flow is supposed to divert upwards, boosting rw, while other part may pass around it because of high AoA, which could eventually try to help diffuser extraction?
