Could you explain? I feel blowing the rear wing is a bit far-fetched. It could just be that they are blowing high energy air upwards to energise the suction from the diffuser and improving diffuser performance
Might have some influence on the rear wing, but diffuser is primary. That flap and surrounding aero features will create a strong low-pressure volume right behind it, increasing suction.
I would think it also reduces efficiency of the exhaust pipe and hurts engine performance a little, but Ferrari clearly doesn't think so!
There's a possibility that it may improve turbo spool up while sitting statically, but cleared more effectively into that under wing flow space when moving, that to mitigate exhaust flow losses.
"Tuning" the end of exhaust pipes right at that far extremity can be of significant benefit to up stream pulsing etc within the system. Not generally seen on turbo system outlet, they may have found something here on these quite distinct set of components and while running below optimisation during start procedure circumstances.
