I never thought I'd enjoy such a disastrous preseason so much. It must be the intrigue surrounding it all.

I'm really looking forward to Melbourne. To see what the heck is really going on. Including the other teams, because it seems like there are too many unknowns hanging in the air.

Great, I can't wait for the races to start !!!

With the rules, once the PU is homologated on 1st March 2026, there's nothing stopping Honda from designing an upgrade for race 7, right?

To be a little more optimistic than the majority here, I'd say its neither a deficit of the engine nor of the chassis. Rather natural (resonant) frequencies of the gearbox respectively of the whole drivetrain, excited by the engine's torsional irregularity (which is a natural thing in ICE's). It could well be they have to shift them higher up by increasing stiffness, or try to damp them somehow.

I lived through pre-season nightmares like this in 2015 and 2017. Neither ended well.

I´m expecting a very long year here with fans defending Honda like their own life and trying to put the blame on Newey, or anyone else, and claim Honda is great
It's started already 😂
Finally, everyone knows that Red Bull is a joke and Max Verstappen is overrated.

aston saying they identified a problem with the power unit and stopped it as a precaution.
They are lying and failing to take responsibility for their part .you could here the gearbox grinding and alonso reving the engine in frustration. These is not a good way to build relationships by blaming the other party for your failings.
i said the same thing but another poster stated that data showed that alonso wasnt on the throttle. we dont know what aston are doing. throwing your brand new engine partner under the bus seems a little ridiculous. if they did that, shame on them, but i kinda find it hard to believe that they would be doing that at this point. newey has had a good relationship with them for a few years now. either way bad day again

Fix realibity and integration chassis problems first.what will a slightly more powerful engine do if a gearbox can't handle a detuned engine. These team can't even finish half a race.they should have joined partnerships with mclaren or redbull on gearbox side.

Why would Max want to come to Aston after he and his daddy fired Christian from RB? They run RB now
good point. they also seem "good"
Who the F wants the original manchild?
not I haha. but if there is one positive from this situation, we wont have to listen to max fans coming in here for a while

It's not as bad as 2015 pre season.

A cup half full guy!

I'm optimistic they'll pull this all together this year. This just reeks of a rushed attempt to get the best ideas out there from all parties involved but not having tested/optimized them in the shop/test bed.

They is nothing new in those engines it is the same that have been running for the last 10 years adopted for biofuels so trying to blame an engine manufacturer looks desperate these time
its a lot different man.they removed the mguh and banned the combustion method honda was using too. honda has said quite publicly that they were having some difficulties developing the PU. but every team has had to deal with the same issues, albeit with more time. theres enough blame to go around for everybody. but at least honda has built a lot of engines, aston hasnt built a gearbox for a number of years. unfortunately im not real surprised about this situation. i just try to stay positive until theres a reason not to be.

Remember Alonso saying last season, he's more likely to continue in F1 if Aston have a "bad 2026", I'd like just one year fighting for a third WDC, hope he gets a 1 year extension and doesn't go out like this.

I.am usually very pessimistic about everything, but I remember 2015 testing quite well as a Alonso fan, and as bad as this looks its nowhere near as bad as back then when it was just hopeless.
Season will start bad but it will improve at much quicker rate than in 2015.....just because Honda is more mature and AM factory is much better that that of McLaren in 2015

Yes, and I believe they are already working on it, then it needs to be proven by ADUO that the engine itself is less powerfull.

Then for the gearbox and the rest, they need to work on it asap, but obviously they are doing it, and those 4 months late cannot be wiped by magic so... wait is all we can do.
