Usually, to remove the rear axle, you have to remove the rear fender.

They really looked very casual. No rush. So either they can't fix it quickly and are waiting for something or they have time.

The photo above shows that there are no rear axles, but there is a wing.

Ruth Buscombe, at the McLaren garage:

"It is all fairly quiet. Some setup work is happening at the front, some tape being applied to the rear.

"I wouldn't expect to see Lando Norris out particularly quickly but it doesn't look too panicked."

Garage doesn't seem to be cordoned off.

The garage is usually closed off when significant work is being done on the car,

Sorry guys. My fault the car isn’t out. This afternoon is the one and only time that I’ve been able to watch any testing live.

Bernie Collins reporting that McLaren noticed a issue in data during the lunch break, decided to check and made a precautionary change. She is speculating that they made a water cooling system bleed/change. The engine was fired up recently. Looks like they may be on track in 10-15 minutes.

The team is the leader in terms of the distance covered in the tests, and it is possible that the main program has already been completed and only minor checks remain. Therefore, they are not in a hurry.

Always good to find faults like this during testing. Going through the whole test with no reliability issues leaves them open to rear their ugly head at a race weekend.

not to be pedantic, but mclaren had a hydraulic problem on the second day of their barcelona test
