Mercedes-Brawn, in silver, in 2010..? and Mobil following the Silver Arrows.. a double whammy for McLaren!

It sounds like the only thing stopping all this happening is McLaren's 40% buyback from Merc, plus any clauses in McLaren's sponsorship contracts citing Mercedes as a major technical partner.
Mercedes may being liable for lost earnings by forcing McLaren's breaches of contract(s) by leaving their partnership early.. probably explains all the Merc lawyers seen around the place lately.

We may just end up with Button running around in Silver Arrows in 2010, but oddly enough, not Lewis (& McLaren)!
Expect McLaren to sign a new Fuel and Lubricants partner for 2010 in Petrobas, or if they are going all british on us, posibly BP Fuel and Castrol Oils.

And Scuderia McLaren sounds awful; they're British for goodness sakes! :|
Wont happen for a long while, altho i have heard it could as McLaren have been lined up with Orange Mobile telecoms as a replacement sponsor for Vodaphone, who Mercedes Benz are keen to take over with them, but Vodaphone will probably stay with McLaren meaning after a 2 year period, they will revert to the old late 80s and early 90s colours of red & white differing to the Marlbro branding they had then.

Who ever called it that Mercedes ill have Yellow in their livery, id say good call, but i thnk its gonna be Silver/Yellow/White for Mercedes and Silver/Red/Black for McLaren personally.

Their LeMans Sauber-Mercedes had silver with yellow mirrors and black sponsorship. White was the background in the old days for red numbers, when those were huge. That would be an old scheme then.

I think McLaren will remain with Vodafone, or they may even pull out. They recently said they are looking to cut costs, and F1 could be a good start for them.

I personally think McLaren livery will remain unchanged for 2 years.

As for the brawn Livery - expect it to be Silver and Black, altough all them sponsor stickers they will have onboard that MercGP will certainly add a few Kilos

Didn't goony said in the MP-4 thread that the livery is burgundy and silver?

Cool, Burgundy will match a whole heap of sponsors!

You mentioned the blue colour scheme before. Do you think it will fit in this new arrangement? I know it's being said that the team won't change colours, but at the same time we could be seeing four silver-ish cars in the grid next year.

thanks a lot for your insider's view.
i never mentioned blue it was burgandy and its an old one and not at all relevant
to what is happening at the moment

Burgundy will look so nice, like British furniture in a way. Together with Johnnie Walker "Burgundy" logos perhaps?

 the poor team doesn't have enough cars to paint all its colour schemes reported on this thread!

Blue, Burgundy, Red & White, Silver Red & Black.. anything more people dreamt of last night? :wtf:

What about Ubuntu Brown?
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

No that Mercedes have been relegated to an engine supplier, Mclaren should keep their cars silver as much as Williams painted their cars Toyota red and white last year.

The engine supplier should not get total car color branding any more. They just aren't footing that bill anymore.

Red and white looked sharp, but as well all know that was tobacco's influence, and no team except Ferrari wants anything but their money.

They have a good opportunity to try something new, as all the old liveries barring the Mclaren orange are sponsor related, and have no if little relevance returning.

Mercedes own 40% of the team....they are still Silver Arrows to some degree...Once McLaren have finished paying them off they will look at a change of scheme.
