Not sure where this is coming from. They've never blame Honda only for their problems.
With Aston Martin Lagonda (the road car Manufacturer) that might be true.Badger wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 11:13Wdym there are no outstanding loans? The other way to look at this is that AM has terminate their sponsorship deal with AMR to cut cost, which is around 25m per year in sponsorship to F1 team, while LS got the F1 team to pay 50m to AM for its naming rights.
For AM (car division), that is a damn good deal because
1) They dont need to pay AMR 25m per year and to give free cars to their drivers
2) AM still enjoying brand exposure in F1 because of the naming right
3) AM get 50m of cash injection in return.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp9m8n2vx0moIf you were to liquidate AMR GP you would not be able to repay all of their debt with the sold assets.
These investments into the team are financed largely with debt, and they will need a commensurate upturn in revenue to pay that debt down. But the increased revenue will only come if the team performs better, instead it has been performing worse every year since 2023, and now it looks quite disastrous in terms of performance.
They dont have to, they just pay the media to create the narrative
Why would they pay they media to do anything? Why would they not just tell the media whatever narrative they wanted ?
Media is one of the most corrupt industries, if you deny that............diffuser wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 16:39Why would they pay they media to do anything? Why would they not just tell the media whatever narrative they wanted ?
The thing is, BS'ng the media only works for a little while. If there is no success, heads will roll. Thing is most of the time these guys tell the truth, it is what the plan is, problem is it just doesn't work out sometimes.
Formula one is about science and engineering. There is no room for BS there, only data.
Just to be clear and I'm not supporting what the other guy said. There are 2 budget caps, 1 for the AMR GP and another for the Honda. The PU is a fixed cost to AMR GP. The ADIO regs, if the PU is > 4% behind, could exempt Honda from the PU CAP.

Nope, AMR GP has a negative book value, the latest filing was posted here in the thread. Book value is just one way of valuing a company, it doesn't mean it is what the company would sell for on the open market. But it does speak to the net financial position of the company, and seeing as you claimed they had no debt that seemed like a relevant piece of information to share. They have a lot of debt, in fact they have more debt than they have assets.diffuser wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 15:53With Aston Martin Lagonda (the road car Manufacturer) that might be true.Badger wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 11:13Wdym there are no outstanding loans? AMR GP(The F1 Team), that Stroll bought for 100M and is now worth over 3 billion, that is false.
The 2 are completely separate companies.

So how do you know any of this is coming from AMR GP ?
Dude it's you job to make sure what you're reading is true. Don't just believe anything.
The media is as corrupt as you allow them to be. The media believe what they want to believe and they tell people. If people want to believe that, they take it as fact. If the people take the time to learn if it's true or not they can believe the truth.
YOU blame the media but YOU are much of the problem as the media.
Yes they can, but unlikely before Australia for logistical reasons.
Still 300 million out standing on a group worth over 3 billion and having just finished spending 200 million on 3 new buildings is CHUMP CHANGE, not heavily leveraged.CHT wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 04:50diffuser wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 04:35There is no outstanding loans for AMR GP. AMR financial filing show that the team has £311,923,000 loan which will be due within 5-10 years and the company is paying £27,020,000 in interest for its borrowing. This team is heavily leverage using superficial valuation created by LS inter company transaction.

"You can't spend hundreds of millions of pounds, build the best new Formula 1 campus and hire 400 of the best employees if you're about to leave the business," Stroll told the New York Times.
"Sell? That news couldn't be further from the truth. I have no interest in ceasing to be the majority shareholder of this team for a long time - and the same goes for the car company.
"I'm not going anywhere. I plan to run these businesses for many years to come. I'm at the beginning of the road in both cases."
How is there a high possibility they won't have a car? They showed up to testing with one and ran it.
Teams can change them whenever they want. It is just they are allocated to use only 4 for the entire season. Any additional units will incur grid start penalties and eat up more of a team's budget against the cap.WardenOfTheNorth wrote: ↑26 Feb 2026, 17:16Lots of people talking about changes to the PU in 2 or 3 races etc.
Under the new rules, are they able to change the PU at that point??
