I will say it another time and no more: Neither Ferrari nor Audi gave any reason to make us think that they are cheating; quite the opposite. Not so clear cut with RBPT, but they finally sided with Ferrari, Audi and Honda.Bill wrote: ↑27 Feb 2026, 09:35So honda are incompetent because they are not cheating? The Honda pu was running the engine on save mode because of battery overheating since Barcelona. So ones they address that issue we will see the real hondapowerunit but for now we haven't. So are people angry hurling insults but doing that with limited info.honda had to change parts of there pu since newey arrived but they were limited in time.
The rules are not at fault. They had 9 days to test, rather spread out. AM and Honda hand-in-hand created their own mess. They took the risk and it didn't pan out. The chassis and engine should have been in a testing rig by January (if not earlier), if they wanted to be safe.API wrote: ↑05 Mar 2026, 13:53https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/ever ... -briefing/
I think someone should think about how it will be handled when the rules are changed.
I think there needs to be a longer pre-test period so that the single-seaters arrive at the first grand prix in great shape. It's not a problem that someone loses more, that's how it is, but it's impossible not to race and the car and engine are in this condition. The idea that this would happen to Mercedes, for example, and 4 teams would not start is sad.
Honda and Aston Martin couldn't do it, for me it's an irresponsible approach to F1.
I believe he will make it into a competitive shape, but it will hurt a lot and it will be a long haul.
Which probably makes up for what, 1.5-2 sec/lap? That puts them close to Andretti.
