https://autoracer.it/leclerc-2026-oppor ... l-davanti/Despite the enthusiasm for the new technical cycle, Leclerc does not give in to easy proclamations, aware that winter tests often hide the real hierarchies: "The year of Ferrari? It would be a dream, but it is too early to make predictions, especially since we do not know the potential of our rivals. We don't know who is really in the lead at the moment. Mercedes, McLaren and Red Bull already seem well prepared and very competitive. I have the impression that the four teams that have recently competed for the championship are quite close, but Mercedes could have a slight advantage, and even Red Bull seems a little above."
Do not know your source, but that is 2-4 races earlier than Ferrari. Ferrari is supposed to introduce it in Montreal, Saudi Arabia at best.

What does Sainz see in Red bull and Max that we don't?![]()
why are many people (I've seen a lot of posts in the forum) calling it the 'Ford' powertrain ? That's an insult to the 'original team of RBPT people'. Ford came in later, and as per my understanding, their role has been to lend development tools, manufacturing tools and personnel support, not actually 'design' the ICE and the battery/electric motors.CjC wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026, 19:49Sainz is one of the admirers of the Ford powertraineuv2 wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026, 16:45AR3-GP wrote: ↑03 Mar 2026, 16:15I don't know what Leclerc sees in this car![]()

While expecting better on this forum might be somewhat valid, Ford's role is that of badging primarily and providing Red Bull 30 million dollars a year to subsidize the engine program. Actually its more interesting that the collaboration became something substantially more.venkyhere wrote: ↑04 Mar 2026, 20:36why are many people (I've seen a lot of posts in the forum) calling it the 'Ford' powertrain ? What is your point? My point is that the idea that RB would introduce it earlier than Ferrari seems a bit unbelievable.

F1 car changes their rear wings all the time perhaps the easiest part to copy if its working. But teams will want to see the real benefit on track before deciding
