Honda PU has turned out to be a joke. For all talks of solutions being applied for this race weekend, the engine wont do even 1 proper lap.

This is an absolute disaster... without major exceptions from FIA and other teams, I dont see how Honda can turn around this season.
Honda seems to have put a bunch of recent graduates to work on the engine as their final project. It's unbelievable how a company of this caliber could produce something so pathetic.
Honda did the same with its 2015 engine, but somehow it was all McLaren's fault for asking for a size zero concept. People here are doing the same by solely blaming Newey and not holding Honda accountable at all.

Honda had carte blanche with the 2017 redesign, and it ended up being worse for power than the 2015 one and just as unreliable. To this day, however, the narrative was that all of Honda's woes for years stemmed from McLaren holding them back with unreasonable demands.

On that note, Audi had a respectable debut with decent times in FP1, making them look a 100 times more professional than Honda.
Yup. For 2015, to some extent, one would still forgive Honda for having just entered the sport after a long time and getting it wrong.

In 2026, there can't be any excuse. Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi, Ford - all have built their engine which are way more reliable. Japanese companies taught the world concepts like six sigma and building high quality products... all that is lost.

On a separate note, AM has brought a host of new parts. Looks like they will have to test these parts it in the garage

What was the problem with the engine in FP1, is there any statement from Honda...
The Engine shipped by Honda was definitely tested, it is not that they started the engine only during the FP1, seems more related to integration with the components.

How does Honda not have enough batteries ready?!? this is abysmal, and unacceptable. As a Fernando fan it is kind of gutting to put it mildly.

Wow does that mean they already lunched 2 batteries in FP1 on both cars or they showed up to Australia with no spares? They only get 3 a year so the former could be even worse. This is now veering dangerously close to unprecedented disaster territory. Why didn't they use a filming day to test their alleged battery disintegration "fix" pre season without risking pool allocations before showing up to Melbourne?

Alonso did not go out on track, unless the battery went Kaboom in the Garage
Lance did 2 laps - so he may have destroyed 1 set.

If they had brought 2 set in total for each car...

What's with so much negativity ?
Did you expect success straightaway ?
Be positive.
Team building takes time, the product will take time to 'come together'.

^^
This is what a 'knowledgeable F1 fan' is supposed to say ; whilst conveniently ignoring what Audi showed in FP1.

To make matter worse, even if they manage to arrange flight from Japan, they do not have spare in Sakura, as stated by AN. Something seems off..

At this point, couldn't the FIA simply ban Aston Martin from even participating in the race weekends until they present a car without dangerous vibrations, with a pace "compatible" with the others, enough spare parts and capable of finishing a race?

I don't know if the FIA can claim that AM is "tarnishing the sport" with an extremely uncompetitive and dangerous car. And with the ban coming from the FIA, it would free AM from most of the contractual penalties for not participating in the races, compared to if it were their decision.
