Congratulations to Mercedes! They have come back with vengeance. Great job from George.
It's unfortunate that 2 races suddenly disappeared from the calendar, taking away guaranteed points early in the season.
Without the narrow window to make the cars work properly with those massive Venturi-tunnels, a conventional flat floor with a diffuser offers greater expansion for development and consistency from race to race.
Unless they hold back tomorrow, I think Mercedes can win by a minute. W11 is literally back
They won't go to 1 minute. They'll get the pitstop gap and then save the PU. Only 25-30 seconds tomorrow.
Looking at the other Merc powered teams it is more than just a good PU. Their chassis is good as well, they are probably hitting the minimum wight as well while McL and RB for example are not.Jdn1327 wrote: ↑07 Mar 2026, 11:39Merc have always built very good ICE units. Even with numerous individuals leaving the engine division, they've still manged to build a peach of an engine.
Given how competitive McLaren has been the last 2 years and the strength they have in their organization, it's difficult to say it's just PU that is giving advantage to Mercedes. The chassis seems to be very good and compared to Mclaren, the Mercedes advantage is all coming from chassis. Look at Alpine and Williams.Jdn1327 wrote: ↑07 Mar 2026, 11:39Merc have always built very good ICE units. They aced the 2014 engine.
