Ferrari didn't look as dialled in as Australia. Maybe with some learning from SQ and the Sprint race they'll be able to optimise more for main quali and race.

They gambled with the macarena wing.

Both drivers looked way more comfortable with the traditional wing. 1fp is not enough to test a new part like that. I think lewis might start in p3 and Charles in p6. Antonelli impeding was blatant with norris.

Bold to bring that wing with so little time to optimize everything, but I like the decision anyway. I feel like they should still have an edge on McLaren on race pace while Mercedes is just too far ahead anyway so it was worth the gamble.

Thought we might be a little closer. Was hoping for 4 tenths?

Probably should have done what McLaren did but doubtful it would have made a massive difference. hopefully the race will be better for us.

The Ferrari PU randomly goes into limp mode in crucial moments.

They are far behind in terms of engine.
The new rear wing is going to be very difficult to get it right as well.

Software optimization is also lacking.

Hasn't this happened with other teams too, not only Ferrari? I have no examples but I saw some other sites discussing it being a reoccurring issue

If it really only is Ferrari... not good of course!

Either way a shame it happened on that specific lap because the other sectors were terrific.

You can clearly see that Leclerc had more deployment in some other areas of the track and then had less on that big straight. If they wanted to do the same kind of deployment that obviously didn't happen.

I've heard it's an automatic system so maybe the way you do your warmup lap changes the way it deploys energy for the following lap. Maybe Leclerc on warmup/outlap was slow on the back straight and Hamilton was fast so the algorithm adapted?

IMO they probably used the same amount of energy over the lap but just in different spots. Hamilton deployment is probably faster as it is on the longer straight.

Is there any chance of Ferrari and RBPT getting ADUO. I think Honda will get for sure and that too for 2 times

Check the race thread? Telemetry there.

Apparently we don't have the telemetry from any Merc cars on the second part of the long straight. Seems like a glitch that shows them at a constant speed so no real comparisons can be done.

Rather funny that it's at a specific point of the track where we could see the biggest difference between the PU as one would guess they are all running dry on battery power by the end of the straight and ICE performance would show a lot more.
