I wonder if the Macarena wing has some real benefits or is it just a gimmick to trick us they have the real innovative solutions :)

Leclerc confirmed the issue.

On the bright side, I think Ferrari being much less mature than Mercedes has a lot of room for improvement.
They will not challenge titles, but I expect wins and why not 2027 double world champions [-o<

Check the race thread? Telemetry there.
Apparently we don't have the telemetry from any Merc cars on the second part of the long straight. Seems like a glitch that shows them at a constant speed so no real comparisons can be done.

Rather funny that it's at a specific point of the track where we could see the biggest difference between the PU as one would guess they are all running dry on battery power by the end of the straight and ICE performance would show a lot more.
You can see the first half of the back straight and the start of slowing down. We don't see the braking point. First half of the straight already shows Mercedes with higher speed.

The Ferrari PU randomly goes into limp mode in crucial moments.
Hasn't this happened with other teams too, not only Ferrari? I have no examples but I saw some other sites discussing it being a reoccurring issue

If it really only is Ferrari... not good of course!

Either way a shame it happened on that specific lap because the other sectors were terrific.
Aren't the teams all using realtime AI inferencing for this stuff? If so, it shouldn't be surprising that it's not reliable.

EDIT: Ok, not real-time inferencing, but definitely using AI for programming the software to begin with.

Leclerc would have been very close to Lewis in Q3, either extremely slightly behind or ahead.
The goal for the sprint is just acquiring more data for the race and especially PU optimization where Ferrari is lacking a lot compared to Mercedes.

I think the whole theme of the season between Ferrari and Mercedes is going to be like Australia.
Mercedes 1-2 qualifying, well ahead that is. And then, race pace, very close and track dependent. Like 2017.
Maybe a few poles, Monaco, Hungary, Singapore.

Very close because Mercedes is regulating its power delivery. If they run like in the qualy they would lap the entire field.

With these PU if you make one small mistake with harvesting your lap is half a second down. The drivers said this in the preseason and this is exactly the yoyo effect we are seeing on the timings.

Will Mercedes object if Ferrari RB and Audi get AUDO? With the current engines there is no chance with non Mercedes PU to win or have fair Championship

If the torque measurement will be done properly by FIA, there is no way we are less than 4% inferior in performance.

what if its not engine power outright but engine USAGE and deployment that makes the difference? that will not be measured as part of the AUDO benchmarking?

Ferrari is a really good car but a cart horse on the straights
