Messy race with all these reliability issues but some good battles out there. Congrats to Kimi for first win for Mercedes and Lewis for first podium for Ferrari.

Once again the Ferraris make the race entertaining, would have been such a snoozefest otherwise
there was tons of action on Verstappen onboard.

story telling was that here it would have been closer due to the track requiring less harvesting, reality is that it's been worse than in Melbourne

Without Ferrari, this race would have been really boring.

Kimi Antonelli wasn't born yet when the last Italian won in F1, Fisichella, Malaysia 2006.

F1 has heard the german and italian anthem in succession a lot of times in a certain era of the past ...
Just not quite in this order :D

I think Lewis regrets not sticking with Merc, can just hear it in his voice.

Prince Antonelli uncrowns King George. The Gauntlet has been thrown.
Sir Hamilton defends successfully the podium against the hot-headed kid from the Côte d'Azur.
Ferrari loses half a second per lap to Mercedes over the race. Not good.
What will happen in Japan? Will Ferrari strike back or will the Empire persist.
Questions over questions, while VES licks his wounds.

The Mercedes finally stretched their legs today. The race would have been horrendous without the Ferrari battle. Leclerc must be kicking himself giving away a podium with an unforced error.

Not really...the interesting part was that they share the power modes between the cars, both cars always have the same mode. After the SC nothing happened, Russel seemed to be struggling. Once Hamilton passed the Haas? and was behind Ant, they shortly released the dragon, which meant Ant was 1sec faster and posted a fastest lap while Rus had no issue to overtake the Ferraris. Then they turned it down again and were doing basically the same times, I think Rus just lost a bit more time in traffic, which is normal for P2 at this gap.

Yes, this was geat. I do not know if it would be better if they concentrate on Rus...maybe they know themselves that this is nonsense and just keep racing.

I am rooting for Lec in this battle....but one needs to say...Ham does not do these errors. Same issue for Ant on Rus.
Don`t russel the hamster!
