Another big one. Dan Milner, Chief Engineer of Research and Development at Mercedes has left the team and is now on Gardening Leave.
We’re delighted to announce that Dan Milner has been appointed as Chief Engineer of Vehicle Technology here at Atlassian Williams F1 Team.

Its risky what is Mercedews doing... yes, they didnt lose the same amount of senior engineers like Red Bull, but for the last 3-4 years they are on the second place in this regard if we are comparing them with the other top teams. I hope it is not arrogance or overconfidance but execept Resta and that italian simulation engineer that came with Resta they are filling the voids just from within. They rely to much on the talent they already have. Maybe this is an explanation to a certain degree for the fact that in 4 years they couldnt achive a very competitive car in the ground effect era. There were always some sort of explanations instead of just get the job done like Mclaren in 2023. Mclaren and Ferrari almost every year between 2022-2025 had better chassis than Mercedes. If by the second part of this year Mclaren as a customer will make their car faster than Mercedes than we can all recognise that they were so good in the first half because of the integration of chassis and engine. And Im watching out for Ferrari because their engine deficit the car is a monster in the corners.
