If they're going to change the time they should have just gone all in and moved it to the am. A 11 am start would have avoided any thunderstorms and resulted in a full (if slightly wet) race. This late start still runs the risk of major problems.
.
I agree. I said it yesterday. Starting late in the morning.

This is the weather between 1 and 2 PM:

For tv fans no problem, but there are 100000 people which want to come to the track in time.

I suspect the race will be cancelled ultimately.

As said, it should have been moved even earlier.

The weather looks bad on the webcams. I’d be surprised if this isn’t a washout.

FOM need to make a decision but they usually aren’t very good at doing that. If lightning starts they’ll be forced to clear the outside areas of the venue whatever.

they had, yes, but meanwhile it was replaced by an "all clear" notice.

More thunderstorms may pop up later on, of course, but it seems a bit early to panick.

Oh that’s good. I hadn’t seen that they had issued an all clear notice. Hopefully we get a race!

This was just the forecast scattered storms for the am. The forecasts show a ~6 hour window before the main cluster of storms starts up. I suspect they'll be able to get the race started but its doubtful they'll be able to finish a full distance before the main storms start up.

They should start the race in 1 hour, as there is a dry window. Waiting until 7pm will cause problems, as looks like new rain is coming sooner than expected. A shame. Moderate rain coming from the west over the sea. I dont see a race today, because after this area of strong rain comes, it would last for hours. Hope I am wrong.

It looks very race-able in the current conditions that F2 are racing in

It doesn’t matter if it’s raceable or not, it could be dry. Lightning anywhere close to the circuit and they have to stop due to US H&S legislation. Then there has to be a no lightning period before a re-start. I can’t remember the exact distances or timings. It’s quite common in US racing to have delays for lightning.

I didn't really expect tires to be of interest, but as it currently looks dry now:
