Should have pitted when it made sense, now they will just drop down without a fighting chance.

Max should not have fought that, but Piastri was close anyway so it won't matter.

It never made sense to me. They would have sent Max 4 seconds behind Hamilton.

Okay the tires really fell off. P5 isn't the worst result.

Clever little strategy though was worth a shot especially if the rain came mid way.

At least we can say tyre wear is really really good now, very promising.
They haven't sacrificed quali pace.

On pure race pace, Max was equal to Ferrari. The unfortunate spin and the call of an early pit stop meant Leclerc was always finishing in front of him. Finishing above Russell would be a good finish as normally the Mercedes is still the much better car.

McLaren and Mercedes look to be on par. Red Bull and Ferrari a bit behind.

Betting on the rain is risky. At the end the strategy did not work out and was therefore an error.

If they boxed 10 laps before Max would probably just passed Russel and Hamilton and not Piastri and Charles. Pace is promising though. We fought for a podium this race, Norris and Kimi were probably out of reach, Mercedes and Mclaren are still better, we are equal not with Ferrari in race pace. But P3 was possible. Its racing, but bring on Montreal, now we can fight at least . Solid. I am sure in a couple of races a podium at least will come. Its ok we are not fighting for the title, i am just enjoying now. We will be back you will see.

The car us improved but it's hard to get excited about anything with these regulations.

Today the car was better, behind the two Mercedes motorized teams, equal to Ferrari. A nice improvement and Max can make some of his magic work again.

But both drivers made very costly mistakes. Max with his lock up then spin at the startd and Hadjar with his crash. Poor race due to these errors.

It's been a while since we have had cars have tires fall off a cliff. Took almost 50 laps to happen, but clearly the less downforce these cars have to their predecessors can be felt on deg.

P5 is not too bad. I was hoping he'd keep Russell behind. But Red Bull Racing might be back.

Mercedes is annoyingly fast on straights when they have overtake mode.
