The pace was really good for 20-25 laps, then he started falling off a bit, also he wasn't really driving a free race, it was full push throughout whilst also overtaking a lot of cars, not much management going on.
He started the stint lap 13, on a 33.5, overtook a bunch of cars, spent a lot of time doing 33.1-33.3 until lap 50, and then only slowed down when he started battling Russell on lap 52. He also was missing the diveplane on the front wing the whole time.
Yes, just checked the lap times again, so it's looks like Max had similar deg to Antonelli for 30+ plus laps, that's class leading deg this race, very encouraging.

Max just said it was fine on the mediums but no grip on the hards :?
Track was 36C. It was a bit too cold for hards. Despite this, the pace on hards wasn't bad and he had front wing damage.

We just need another weight reduction package, and a clear race without problems, and Verstappen can win.

The dive plane winglet in front of the right front tire was missing for most of the race.

Ok how the team can make this colossal --- then, in the pitstop, first time I’m seeing this and makes me wonder how much it actually affected him then

Considering the potential shown this weekend, the car has to drop the weight for Canada. No excuses. The planning must adapt when you have a chance to win races or fight for a championship.

I thought it was rather cheeky how Max let Kimi through with no defense, but when Lando came along he tried way harder

Lando must have been pissed

The Red Bull looks transformed after the break. Yeah the race was scrappy but Max had genuine race challenging pace and the car looked much happier in the low speed stuff that's been its nightmare so far. They're back in the lead fight and can look forward to podiums and even wins this season once they manage to shed some more weight. The only concern is the engine might be too good to qualify for ADUO and they could fall behind Ferrari once they bring their big engine upgrade.

Mekies said 3 of the 5 areas that they identified in the launch spec car have been corrected. There is a rumor about a suspension update for Canada. The final issue is probably the rest of the weight.

Do we know what were the 3 areas that have been corrected?

Also I wonder how they rate their engine and deployment etc. Merc seems to be ahead, but it is hard to estimate the magnitude.
