Mclaren long run was a good few tenths better, more consistent, and that was piastri.

Red Bull usually does practice runs on race fuel, even on sprint weekends. Mercedes looked like sprint fuel. Hard to say what McLaren did.

I don't think they are a match for Mercedes or Mclaren, but the min speeds are not terrible.

The chassis looks fundamentally not --- which is good news

Max had a wicked slide at the end of S2 on his second attempt. Thought he was going to crash.

Do you think there's more time in it?

Certainly. He was 2 tenths down on his first attempt in that sector despite being much faster in S1 and S3.

Mercedes and Mclaren brought substantial upgrades here.

Think there was some time left on the table, could have been fighting MCL if everything was ok. The last lap wasn't great either, Max not improving in 2 sectors.

Hopefully they find similar time to Miami for tomorrow‘s Q.
Car seemed back to more inconsistency again.

The car didn't look bad at all to be honest, the cornering speeds were very competitive, besides the terrible 8-9 chicane. Max seemed to struggle to get the power down out of t7 and t14 too, which checks out with his complaint.

I think all of the top 4 teams left time on the table today due to the short free practice. We will get a better picture tomorrow (if teams make the right changes).
