Each driver pairing within a tenth of each other is really emblematic of this current regulation set not really letting drivers flex their driving skills.
FIA should have considered atleast 75-25 power split for 2027 to being back some part of previous generation of racing where pushing hard through the corners gives an edge. I am sick of watching second drivers being so close to the No.1 drivers. This is farse. Quali laps looks like stroll in the park.

Antonelli looked really quick again. Just needs to sort out qualifying.

 Kimi was on full tilt after getting squeezed by Russell. Even after the race on the radio "if this is how we race, good to know". Toto had to step in twice to tell him to shut up. Love it.

Russell pushed Antonelli off. It was a slam dunk penalty. Antonelli was alongside and in control.

Bono, George, and Toto might've unintentionally ignited a fire within Kimi

When was the last time there was a penalty was an outside lunge and going off in Montreal turn 1? That was just a stupid move from an inexperienced driver. He followed that up with a suicide dive bomb towards chicane. Toto need to sit him down and give an earful.

Probably nothing will happen. It's not something other drivers haven't done before. You are not typically allowed to drive around the outside like that unless you do a huge divebomb to completely leap across the car in front (and keep it under control at the exit), or you have a big pace differential.

Outside lunge describes what Russel did, yes.

And that'll do what exactly? You'll give Kimi even more of a reason to do it again and that's what Toto should recognize immediately. George needs to work on his race pace asap because the fact Lando was on his gearbox all race even in the cleanest possible air is worrying.

Alongside and in control until Russell steered right and hit him.

I like how fired up the kid is. Expecting a 2016 like 2026 Mercedes season. No matter what Reichmarshall Wolff threatens him with, Antonelli should keep dishing it out on the track and scare Russel.
