This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
I don't think Russell's defense was unfair. He made the corner easily and was ahead "from the apex". Being alongside on the apex isn't enough, you have to remain side by side towards the exit.
The way current rules are I agree, this is allowed.
But I think that it is a detriment to racing. If they had to leave space if there is significant overlap we would get more side to side action. Would it be so bad if Russell was not allowed to push Antonelli wide after that overlap?
It is now pretty obvious that Antonelli is favored (in what way everyone can decide by himself) by Torger. And that only means, they want to keep Antonelli has hyped WDC, to be paired by Verstappen next year.
Why is that obvious? They could have told Russell he pushed him off and to stop it.
just look at the mimics of the involved persons. I don't say they do something active (I hope not) but as the these dynamics go, it much looks like the would rather see Antonelli win that the other guy. When it come to racing the are pretty fair ( I mean look at the HAM ROS years), but always subliminal stuff. Anyway! a continuous King George versus Prince Antonelli f1eud will make this great season a cracker.
“[W]e were struggling to get the tyres working and struggling with a temperature imbalance across the axles. I was lacking confidence throughout the session, but the team did a great job to nail our tyre preparation in Q3 and give us the chance to take pole position.
And Shovlin:
“ We made some small changes to the car going into main Qualifying, mostly with an eye on cooler and possibly wet conditions tomorrow. The car was a bit trickier to balance throughout the session than it had been yesterday; the final laps from both drivers were good though and it was great to secure another front row lock-out. Whilst it certainly felt like we'd made life difficult for ourselves and ultimately probably made the car a little slower, there are no pictures on the timing screen, and we will lead the field off once again on Sunday.”
Another headless driver in the making. At this rate, either he will crash and throwaway championship lead or cause a double DNF.
George's car is definitely compromised. It just doesn't look as stable as the one Kimi is driving. Something is off. Traction is so bad on George's car and despite kimi pushing through all corners, he seems to have a bit more battery than George. This is going as i expected. Toto wants George off next year so that he can bring Max. The script is clear.
If you look at Mercedes front wing and then look at Aston Martin FW, we can say that Adrian Newey's fear that this set of regulations could turn F1 into engine formula have been proven correct.

Clearly you are assuming that the Mercedes wing is inferior to the Aston Martin front wing.
How did you arrive at that conclusion ? purely from eyeball-aero or did you create your own models and run some aero simulation ?

Well if i compare them visualy the Mercedes wing main plate looks like a 5 year old designed it.

Mercedes got way faster when they switched the 'complex' wire front wing to a plain-looking main elements wing in 2024. McLaren's last year's car was the most basic-looking car while being the best one. I dont understand where this more complex, faster idea is coming from.

Its an engine formula this year, Mercedes is the --- when it comes to engines...next year aero will become more important again.

Nearly half of the grid uses Mercedes engines, and they are beating last year's champions right now. Aero is always important, due to this better engine batshit whatever Mercedes aero department does, it is always undermined unfortunately
