looks like the risk of a rain has become significantly smaller now. Only light drizzle forecast in the afternoon, and likely to stop around one hour before the start.

But at cold temperatures, it may still remain wet for a while, I guess.
That happens all the time. Rain is only thing that can make current modern f1 exciting and we are getting robbed of it time after time again.

Exciting ?
I am more inclined to think 'dangerous'. With these new regs, the relationship between drivers feet and the PU behaviour is much much more artificial than a simple 'drive-by-wire' thing. I am almost sure that any wet running in 2026 will be a red-flag fest. Expecting atleast half the grid to DNF before the chequered flag.

Aye the worst of the rain has shifted to Sunday evening - Monday now.

It’s for the best. The visibility issues and (valid) concern over removing stranded cars and marshall safety just make very wet races a red flag fest now.

This is a good point. I expect throttle pedal activity in the wet to be very different from the dry. If simply lifting to correct a slide in the dry throws out the deployment algorithm so badly, what is even going to happen in the rain?

In 2026 that's the only excitement we're going to get.

The fans secretly hoping for race to be dry shows how pathetic f1 has become. The pinnacle! Haha

Wouldn't it be great for the future of the ‘sport’ if more flaws of the current set of regulations were exposed, sooner rather than later. Even better if safety became a visible and real (rather than hypothetical) concern as we saw with Bearman accident. That does provide the only real chance to fix at least some of the current madness.

Sprint weekends still feel off to me.
It’s been a horrible calendar so far & three sprints already has been overkill.

Tbh, as Brundle said, given the field spread, qualifying has become dull until Q3, as there’s now no real jeopardy for the top teams/drivers.
I have developed a liking for sprint weekends. Love the high tempo action over the three days.

Latest forecast is no rain

Track temp is forecasted for 20C though. This is 10 C lower than qualifying.

What does this mean for parc ferme? Changes where allowed because of the rain, but now no such rain...
