The FIA has rules for it so it must be measured.

Those tests don't answer how the combustion goes in practice and how much is the resulting power. And how different would it be with a different fuel.

My point was we'd know the octane level and energy density. That being said the rules have a min max limit, which makes the fuel a non issue.

That doesn't directly translate to power. For example they were talking about the components of the fuel behaving differently, causing issues.

My guess would be it's from the accident in Sprint Quali, they fixed it after that and it kept coming back.

It could also be he is tired of being lapped, like someone said.

Its either the excuse they decided to use for when Alonso doesn't want to drive anymore or something to to whit Honda's " countermeasures " ?

Or it is you excuse not to blame aston because they are infallible in the eyes of their fans

pretty safe to say that not a single person thats been in this thread for the last 3 years would ever claim that aston are anywhere close to being infallible. the countermeasures is a totally logical possibility unless youre just too sensitive to be rational. it is one of the only things that we know for sure has changed about the chassis since the start of the season.

i dont think alonso would be removing his hands from the steering wheel to make some adjustments if he was just faking it to get out of the car sooner.

The article at the-race.com suggests it's a change for this year, with the seat being more reclined than in previous years. Krack is reported to have said it's been a problem previously, but not so acute and that maybe returning to what they've had before, or something similar, would be wise.

Who knows. This could be the next in an elaborate set of ideas to limit running preserving components as to not exhaust them for no competitive gain. "oh... my seat is suddenly causing me issues".
It's kind of horrifying to believe they can't even manage to secure a seat in place anymore... for multiple sessions.

And not a shot, but Fernando does have the reputation of retiring when he's over it. But that's about as valid an idea as they just can't build a car. What a shambles at the moment.

In my opinion shaped by watching F1 on TV/online for ~2 decades, Aston Martin will have an 'upper-midfield' car only in the 2nd half of 2027. Winning car in this regulation set ? maybe 2029, maybe never. It's not just a 'late start' to development that has been their setback. It's 'wrong start' to development. Will take time to undo , then redo.

oh please if Fernando was driving he wouldn't have been lapped 4 times.it took more 10 laps for midfield to to clear Alonso it was not easy cruise past even though they were many straights. They was something wrong with stroll car because in the first few races he could keep up with fernando.

Fernando was 4 seconds slower than the leaders, he definitely would have been lapped 3 or 4 times.

The first couple of laps from Alonso are amazing, until the power deficit makes him go backwards again as usual.
