It was the right tyre for the start. Unfortunately that first lap was all it was good for!

Sad that Imola is no longer in F1 calendar, and I hope next year to be at LeMans to see the brand new MCL-HY live.

Helping making this post even more on-topic:

With MCL-HY said to have a fully in-house McLaren built engine, and talks of a possible simpler V8 F1 engine in the coming years, I'm hoping F1 really does go that route. This would be the best possible chance of McLaren to start building their own engines.

I understand that such a project would be much bigger than that of the WEC — having to build many engines for 24 F1 races, especially considering the possible need for a customer team (which is another issue in itself) — but I'm hoping MCL-HY engine is a start.

The engine is designed in house but they did not build it. If they decide to become manufacturers, the MTC would probably need to get another expensive extension.

You're right. I got confused for a moment. Still, it could be a start.

Either that or they simply invest in/buy an engine manufacturing company.

Who manufactures their WEC engine?

I'm hoping the proposed move to have a WEC race at Silverstone comes to pass!!

Both drivers may also have special helmets as well - leaks going around of the Lego sets based on them if you look online. Presume a special livery as well.
